I can’t help myself, I can’t stop surfing the Real Estate websites looking for THAT place. Still considering raw land to build on, but if the right house at the right location comes along I’d prefer not to build.
Then there is The Dome, it is intriguing. It has the right location, it has a view but the dome has to go. The garage is OK, there is the beginning of a foundation in the prime view spot on the property, but the prospect of demolishing the dome isn’t all that appealing. But I convince the Jersey Girl to go back and see it again the next day. I call Agent 007 who calls the listing agent to make another appointment. She promises the owner won’t bother us despite being there. And then she says: “Someone else is looking seriously at the property… we have another offer about to come in on the property.”
Do I seem that stupid? I tell Agent 007 very clearly that I will not get into a bidding war. We go back to look it over, since we are in Denver, why not use our free day to check it out more carefully. It would be better than leaving town and wanting a closer look. I walk the perimeter of the property, getting covered in burrs, noticing the copious amounts of trash strewn about. But the views are great. I resolve to make a low offer on this one after the snow starts flying. Let him get cold and wet in the dome before making my offer.
