Stock Photography

Throughout my commercial career I always insisted that the client was licensing only the rights they needed. That benefited them by keeping the fees down. It benefited me by accumulating a library of pictures that could be re-licensed for other uses. I actively promoted mywork as stock photos and I often adapted client work or created entirely new pictures for stock. I advertised in “Direct Stock” a catalog of stock photo images. I created my own CD catalog of stock photos. It was a good income. I also worked with The Stock Market – a large stock agency – to license work. It all sounds strange today with stock photos virtually being given away.
