Transition to the Big City

While the renovations to my loft were proceeding I couldn’t live there. I wanted the time to be productive so I traveled back to Ohio to take pictures. I wanted to create a portfolio to promote myself as a corporate location photographer. Inspired by Dick Durrance II and Jay Maisel I wanted to shoot workers in their environments with bright colors and dynamic poses. I would call up companies and ask for access to take pictures, asked if they could provide models and locations, and amazingly most of them helped out. Working solo I would set up complex lighting and I photographed in a glass windshield factory, a power plant, an oil refinery and lots of other places that would be off limits today.
