CRICKETS is a collaboration with poet and book maker Leonard Seastone and is published by Tideline Press in an edition of 10.
Featuring poems by Leonard Seastone about how we hear crickets but rarely see them and Collodion Wet-Plate photograms of crickets and ferns by Bill Westheimer and presented as salted paper prints made directly on the pages of the book with letterpress type.
The 7.75″ x 5.25″ x 1.25″ hand-made book features a leather cover incorporating a half-plate collodion wet-plate ambrotype. The 24 page interior is letter press printing on waxed salted-paper prints on Fabriano Artistico paper with 14 images by Bill Westheimer and poems by Leonard Seastone. The price for books #1, #2, #3 was $2500 #4-#10 are $3500. Price includes a clamshell box.
Because of the handmade nature of the ambrotype and salted paper prints each book is unique.
As of January 1, 2020 nine books have been placed.
A signed and sealed Certificate of Authenticity is included.
